Hon. Minister of Works, Transport and Communication

Att: Permanent Secretary

Re: Notice to alienate properties of the Rehoboth Baster Gemeente: Erven No`s D672,D710,D711 and

D712…Case No..A255/13

I need not to bother you with historical events under which the Rehoboth Baster Gemeente’s very existence as an indigenous people of Namibia has been threatened with over many years to date. It came as no surprise when we received the Namibian Government’s latest effort of further expropriation of Gemeente properties.

As second respondent on the documentation served on us by the sheriff in our opinion only served as notice of your intention to endorsed the above properties in the name of the Namibian Government and leave no room for consultation and or just compensation.

On behalf of the Rehoboth Baster Gemeente I herewith place it on record that the Namibian Government has contravened the Namibian Constitution, the Africa Charter, United Nations Charter, under which Namibia obtained independence, United Nations Declaration On The Rights Of Indigenous Peoples, by expropriated, not only the above mentioned properties, but the land and other properties and assets that was expropriated after independence.

On behalf of The Rehoboth Baster Gemeente I herewith would like to inform you that we regard your actions as genocide against an indigenous people of Namibia and keep our right to petition our case to appropriate international authorities. The fact that we did not oppose the expropriation does not imply that we condone the expropriation of our properties.

Yours sincerely

Signed by John C.A McNab
