The Rehoboth Museum

The Rehoboth museum houses a unique  collection of material from the Rehoboth region. From the rocks and minerals deposited  millions of years ago to an overview of the  activities of the Rehoboth government of the 1980s.

In 1984, the then autonomous Rehoboth government decided to establish a museum, which opened its doors in 1986. 


The museum is part of an international network of museums and foundations and is renowned for displaying a unique collection on the history of the Rehoboth Baster people.

The Rehoboth museum is privately operated and is only open on prior arrangement. 

Guided tours are available for individuals and groups. The tours are given in English, Afrikaans or German.The museum houses several collections which are thematically arranged in individual sections.
